Accessibility

The Exta was designed to be accessible to as many pilots as possible.

Its low aspect ratio and hybrid paraglider–parakite design balance parakite stability with a paraglider’s reactive behaviour outside the flight envelope.

Internal tension and chordwise stiffness deliver handling suited to active air. Pyramid-shaped D-lines actively assist reopening after a frontal collapse.

Brake adjustment

Steering response can be tuned using the attachment points on the main brake-line adjustment scale. The neutral factory setting provides the most versatile configuration.

A lower knot creates a more direct, precise response and stronger low-speed authority, with increased control pressure. A higher attachment point reduces effort and makes the response more progressive.

Durability

More durable fabric at the wingtips helps withstand repeated contact with the ground.

Ghost Nose Guard protects the leading edge, while non-deformable Nitinol rods retain the profile. The optimised internal structure reduces weight and deformation for lasting performance.

The complete leading edge and final five cells use reinforced fabric for intensive use.

Handling

Aligned magnets on the risers and brake handles indicate neutral. Brake travel resembles a conventional paraglider and finishes with a distinct hard point that clearly warns before stall.

High performance

The Exta delivers excellent performance in both soaring and thermals, making flight paths available that might otherwise remain out of reach.

Lightness

Size 16 weighs just 2.2 kg and packs neatly into a Hike & Fly Trail Rucksack 24L.
