More about our European Tour

Chris and I are set to recreate the same dream trip yet again to further refine our Europe tour offering for 2019. As a result, we’re seeking 5 lucky individuals to join us in Europe again this year. We’ll hit up key sites such as Kössen, Mayrhofen, Achensee, Stubai and more in Austria, Bassano in Italy and Col De Forclaz, Samoens, and the Semnoz Ridge in the Annecy District to name a small few.

Price will be AUD$2400 per person and will include all transfers, retrieves, training and guidance. Because you can never plan the weather, we’ll use Mayrhofen as our base and transit between Italy and France based on forecasts.

We’ll plan for the greatest level of cost saving for accommodation, and I believe we’ll be able to achieve an excellent rate for single and twin-share B&B accommodation (expect EURO$25 p/n in Zill), and we know people and accom options at all of these locations. We’re happy staying at cheap and cheerful lodgings, but if you want to go upmarket, it’s certainly at your discretion.

This is your chance to save a huge amount of money and capitalize on being on a very small tour where a lot of our energies will be concentrated directly towards your inland/alpine thermalling skill development.

Aside from spectacular views and flying, the offer will also include;
Alpine XC and valley weather system clinic by Paragliding World Champion and AirDesign Chief Designer Stephan Stieglair
Visit to AirDesign Headquarters in Absam, Innsbruck
Tour dinner with the AirDesign family
Dedicated Mini AirDesign Testival: Grab any gliders that you’re experienced to fly for a day or two of fun in Mayrhofen!

Additionally, we’ll also be afforded some personalized ad-hoc guiding in Austria from AD test pilot Mike Kremer in his spare time.

Who is this tour aimed at?

This tour is designed for those with minimum thermalling/inland experience, wishing to develop and capitalise on back-to-back flying day opportunities in absolutely stunning high-altitude locations.

Minimum Skills: PG3. If you learnt with us, have more than 20 hours and are a STRONG PG2, talk to me, as you’ll crack PG3 in the first couple of days, and at least PG4 by the end of the tour.

What can you expect when you join a Cloudbase tour?

  • Daily, interactive morning briefings and afternoon debriefs
  • To feel like part of a family
  • To have an incredibly fun time where you get to develop your skills with extensive support and guidance
  • To set, achieve and expand on your flying goals and objectives
  • Make friends for life
  • Free assistance with equipment setup and checks
  • Share some excellent meals and social gatherings with great, like-minded individuals
